Welcome to Bees Overseas, the site dedicated to followers of Barnet FC across the world.
Bees Overseas is being put together by the International Friends of Barnet - a group of fans in different countries who want to share the activities, hopes, aspirations and experience of the many Barnet fans in all parts of the globe.
Bees Overseas works on the simple principle that everyone in the world deep down wants to support Barnet. Some people don't know it. Others do - but have to live far away. This site tries to help both groups by sharing their views and experiences.
If you think you can help us in any way - if you've got content you'd like to contribute, if you can help us translate some of the pages into other languages whatever it might be - get in touch.
Bees Overseas Contacts: As we try to bring together fans of the glorious black and amber across the globe, we are looking to engage every channel we can. So as of now you can:
Latest updates on Beesoverseas
1) Legends of Underhill. This month's legend is a particular favourite of mine - and it turns out of Reckless as well. On muddy pitches and against some pretty dodgey non-league defenders this guy brought some real class to the Alliance Premier League. Take a bow Mr John Margerrison
2) We've started a new feature - interviews with Bees fans across the globe. We're trying to get a feel for what it's really like to support Barnet From Afar. The interview this month is with a long standing Bees fan who lives in Canada. Read Brian Mackie's interview here.
3) Now we're temporarily (please) out of the Football League and coverage of our exploits is reduced we have tried to give overseas fans an idea of how people are viewing our performances. We've put in place a Player Ratings Leader Board. Each week fans who attend the games are invited to rate each player's performance in a game. You can rate the performances after each match here.
After each match we post all the players' ratings for that game as well as the Man of the Match - based on fans votes. The Leader Board is here
Latest News: October 2013
Lack of updates
Regrettably we weren't able to update the site last month - pressures of work and too many mid-week games meant we only had time to keep the Leader Board updated. Apologies to all for this.
Just like my school reports told me - must try harder in October!
September hasn't been kind to us so far. But we're still in the mix - and the reality is we haven't yet played to the best of our ability. Fortunately the game against Salisbury meant we ended the month on something of a high. So hopefully we go into October in a better spirit.
Village's 70th Birthday
Those of you who know Village will know he spends a lot of his time following Barnet and helping our overseas fans. But he doesn't spend too much time online (although he is getting better at that now thanks to a smartphone and a crash-course in Facebook). Anyway he asked us to share this open invitation to all.
It may surprise you to know that he'll be 70 years old on December 5th 2013. To celebrate his brithday, Village will be having a party at the Hive on Sunday 8th December from 07.30pm onwards. All are welcome
A few Edgar Davids Twee-T shirts are still available to order (with a donation being made to Noah's Ark CHildrens Hospice from the proceeds). You can see more about this and reserve one for yourself here
